Care & Ritual

A guide to tending to your jewelry - and the meaning it holds

Every piece I create is made to last, but also to evolve. With time, your jewelry may soften, deepen, or carry subtle marks of your life. This is part of its beauty.

Below are care practices, along with quiet rituals, to help you preserve, reconnect with, and honor your piece for years to come.

Daily Care

DO:

  • Store your jewelry in the box provided.
  • Remove before showering, swimming, or applying perfume.
  • Use the included polishing cloth to gently clean after wear.

DON'T

  • Expose to harsh chemicals (cleaners, chlorine, etc.)
  • Sleep in your pieces (especially delicate or fine chain work)
Ritual Suggestions

These aren't rules, they're invitations.

  • Place your jewelry on a soft cloth or ceramic dish each night, like tucking it in.
  • Clean your pieces before a meaningful occasion.
  • Set intentions as you put your jewelry on each morning.
  • Use your jewelry as grounding objects during anxious moments.

A piece of jewelry is more than a metal, it's memory, intention and presence in physical form.

Sterling Silver
  • Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time. You may notice darkening in crevices or a softened glow.
  • To maintain shine: polish gently with a soft cloth after wear.
  • To remove tarnish: use a silver-cleaning dip/polish sparingly and rinse well.
  • For long-term storage: keep in an airtight pouch or anti-tarnish paper.
Gold (Plated & Solid)
  • Solid gold will retain its tone with minimal upkeep - simply polish when needed.
  • Gold-plated silver:
    - treat with extra care. Avoid friction, chemicals, and hard surfaces.
    - Clean gently with damp cloth - never abrasives or polish.
    - Over time, plating may fade: this is natural and adds character.
    - Reach out for replating.
Storing with Intention
  • Keep your jewelry in a soft place when not worn - a ring box, pouch, a cloth-lined drawer, or ceramic bowl.
  • Separate chains to prevent tangling.
  • Wrap heirloom or memory pieces in fabric for safekeeping & travel.
  • Invest in a jewelry box.
